A Meeting of Different Cultures
Submitted by: Glen Brooks on
I am of Jamaican background and came to Britain in 1956 along with my parents and siblings, when I was 11 years old. We settled in Edgbaston, Birmingham, and have always found the city a warm, friendly, and tolerant place.
I married a Birmingham girl of Irish parents, so our children and now our grandchildren, have a wonderful diverse culture mix, and are richer for it.
We continue to share our family’s culture and heritage, whether it is through the food that we eat, the traditions that we follow, or the stories that we tell.
